jaykumarv 0 Posted June 1, 2013 First, thank you for taking the time to view this topic and reading about my story. I used a lawyer and my file was received on october 19th 2012 (Nebraska). I had my biometrics done on November 14th 2012. It is now June first and I still have not heard anything, and my application has been stuck under initial review. However, I would like to say I received a ticket (not arrested) for possession of drug paraphernalia in August and I am going to get it deferred completely this month since it was not my fault at all. This ticket is a misdemeanor class C (lowest) and it falls under the category of a speeding ticket. I am worried this may cause me to be denied but I have a 3.75 GPA in college as a chemistry major and I plan on going to medical school to pursue my dreams of becoming a physician. HOWEVER I need an ID so I can take the MCAT (medical college acceptance test.) If I cannot take this test then my dreams are shattered. I am just asking if anyone knows someone that has been denied and why? OR if anyone has had a similar ticket/misdemeanor that is holding them back but got accepted. Any information would help. Thank you so much for reading this and I cannot thank the moderators and people that support on this forum!
JoseG 383 Posted June 1, 2013 I think you'll be fine. USCIS allows up to 3 non-significant misdemeanors. If it was just drug paraphernalia and you say you were innocent, then I don't think it will be an issue. Unless you were drug trafficking or distribution, it's not a significant misdemeanor. Me15** 29 Posted June 1, 2013 The worse that can happen is that you will get and RFE asking you to send them proof that were not guilty. I got a ticket before my biometric of obstructing a police officer the week before my bio. Then I got and rfe asking me about this issue. All I did was send them a copy of the court house saying that they lower the ticket to something smaller and I got approve. also I won a DUI and in the same rfe they asked me to submit paper from that court house stating that I won the case. So don't be worry you will get approve. I know is not the same but hey my won dui was worse lol 1 jaykumarv reacted to this

jaykumarv 0 Posted June 10, 2013 I just sent in my E-Request today. Does anyone know about how long they take this E-Request seriously? I know they have to review it in 15 days, and if I don't hear anything in 30 days then I call back again. But it has been WAY too long and I'm growing impatient
