Florida International - First In State Schools In Fl To Offer In-State Tuition To Daca Recipients

Recommended Posts

As per News.FIU.edu (Click for story)

FIU is the first public university in Florida to offer in-state tuition to students who have qualified for Deferred Action. Before this decision was made this spring, local undocumented students had to pay out-of-state tuition.

Thanks to the decision, DACAmented students will only have to pay approximately one-third of the price of out-of-state tuition...

Therefore, if you live in FL, and are DACAmented, Get Educated!

awesome thank you man!  btw do you know whats the longest a person has waited to get approved for daca?

Dude, it varies...

Apparently, there is a positive correlation between the number of applicants and the wait time for DACA...

Basically, as more people apply, applications will take a little bit longer to be processed, which in turn are followed by their respective acceptances, denials, or RFEs...Number of applications increase, number of officials reviewing apps remains constant; hence, the long waiting period. Also, keep in mind that these centers also process other applications...think of it as another pile on top existing piles of applications.

However, no need to worry, just live your life and you will receive the approval when you least expect it...believe me, been there done that...

dang that sucks man, the time i have been waiting for my application to be approved has been forever, and all my friends that I applied, got approved.  Except for me which it sucks because i want to continue my education and work, and drive and all that but it frustrates me even more when I try to call USCIS for answers and all I get is the famous phrase " we dont know the time "like I wish i could hear something different and more details on the process of my application, you know? it sucks man:/

I was in your same exact situation...

But rest assured that by having your application reviewed by Nebraska, you won't have to wait any more than you think...

Just be patient and you will be compensated...believe me...when I was waiting, I suffered from increased anxiety, insomnia - you name a disorder, I probably went through it in some form or another...

Just hang in there dude - next time, when you are studying at the GL, eating at GC, paying for tuition at PC, or supporting your Panthers at the Cage, you won't even remember what waiting felt like...
