Dreamer3oh3 40 Posted July 16, 2013 So Wednesday marks 9 months for me since I filed. ;'( And after just waiting around and around I called to make an inquiry back in Jun 07 13 I was told that I would receive something in writting within 15 days well I waited 15 days then I waited 15 BUSINESS days and nothing. I called today and was told that I couldn't make another request until Thursday. But since I hadn't received anything in writting that I should contact the Nebraska office (that's where my case is being processed) directly and that I would for sure receive a reply within 21 days and that if I DON"T then I can contact headquaters directly and that they would respond directly to me within 10 days!!!!! I know it's a long shot but hey if it gets us some answers why the heck not right??? So I'm going to include the info here and what you need to include in your email when contacting USCIS. NOTE: This only will work if you've exceeded the 6 month waiting period and if you've requested an inquiry and have NOT received anything back in written form from USCIS. Also my case is at the Nebraska office so I only have the email for the Nebraska office. So when writing your email to [email protected] it should basically look like the following: My name is _______ DOB______ I filed for the I-821D on _____ my receipt number is _________ my USCIS Alien Number is_____ and I filed back in_______ my application has exceeded the maximum processing time. So I requested a written inquiry on______ and did not receive anything in the mail. My reference number for that in quiry is _______. I'm writing to make an inquiry on my case.... So basically that's the gist. If you have any additional info you may add it but basically like I said I'm just giving you the gist of what your email needs to include. I will be sending mine out today and we'll see what happens. If you do not receive something back within 21 BUSINESS days then write the same information to this email: [email protected]

tlancaster80 8 Posted July 16, 2013 I've contacted Nebraska directly, also through email, and they have yet to respond. This was several weeks ago. I hope for an approval soon because this waiting SUCKS.
WGATAP 17 Posted July 16, 2013 I contacted Nebraska Service Center with an inquiry about a mistake on my application and they responded. Try it out, they might respond and approve you. 1 Dreamer3oh3 reacted to this
cheated 20 Posted July 28, 2013 I'll need to find out which service center my application was submitted to. There's some kind of glitch with my receipt #, where I can't go online and check, so I have to call and get transferred to an actual officer. But, even though I haven't speciifcally requested for something in writing, I did request a callback and I was told I'd get one within 3 - 5 business days. The lady still took down my mailing address for whatever reason. I haven't heard nor gotten any mail from them. Should I go on and do what dreamer3oh3 suggests? or just call them back and request to be mailed?

I sent mine Jul 17 and I didn't expect to hear anything until Aug 28 I'll need to find out which service center my application was submitted to. Honestly the best way to go about things is to get a written response, bcuz in my experience they will tell you anything to get you off the phone. For example they told my lawyer that my case was being delayed bcuz I was being investigated for fraud. And I never got anything in the mail stating that. Also from the looks of you signature, you submitted your case in January and the aproximate wait time is 6 months. So you just hit 6 months a little less then 2 weeks ago. So my advice to you would be (as hard as it is) to wait at least until Aug 7th. Then I would call uscis and make an inquiry request and then it's a process from there but I'll be glad to guide you along the way. Bcuz while your case is a few days out of the processing time period, some of us waited 9, 10, and even 11 months. 1 cheated reacted to this

Update: I got transferred to an officer on the phone based on my issue being past the 6th month park and that they never called me back from that request I mentioned earlier. He confirmed my case was in Nebraska and that since it's been 6 months, he put in some kind of reminder message whomever is working the cases over there. He then said I should hear something back within 14 days, otherwise call them back again. Personally, I'm not having the highest expectations and i'm taking it in stride, but it's very refreshing to hear something else from them than "your case is pending.. we'll get to it when we get to it". cheated 20 Posted August 17, 2013 ok i did get a letter in the mail earlier today from the department of homeland insecurity. in summary they said they're still "making every effort to process these cases within the stated timeframes and hope to move your case in the near future" and that i should "please allow 60 days for uscis to complete your request". well hey.. i mean .. maybe they're hiring? if and when i get approved i'll go work for them.. im sure it won't be hard for me to take 10 months to work on cases 1 Dreamer3oh3 reacted to this
