Do You Carry???

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if you guys carry your work permit with you? I just wanna take with me to places that ask me for it, like starting a new job. But other than that Idk if I wanna carry it around bcuz I'd be scared to accidentally loose it. Idk what are everyone's thoughts?

If I was you I wouldn't carry it. My cousin got her purse stolen from her car and she had to pay all the fees again. Plus the wait. Btw the paper that it came in specifically says "Do not carry with you."

TIP: I took a picture of mine so if I ever need it I have it in my cell phone.

That's a good idea. Thanks

if you already have a state ID or DL, then there is no need for you to carry your EAD with you at any time. only when you are offered and accept a job offer, and doing the initial paperwork for the job will you need to show your EAD.

there have been too many people who have lost their EADs because they carry it around with them. one SHOULD NEVER, EVER carry their EAD and SSN with them. if they are lost or stolen you will need to pay the $380 fee again in order to get another one.

also, if you do lose your SSN, you need to put a hold on it with the SSA in order to assure that no one else can use it.

You should only carry it with you if you're going to be going to a job interview incase they ask about your work authorization. Another instance where you should carry it is if you're going to be crossing a Border Patrol inspection, other than that, you should leave it at home.
