Tori 38 Posted August 20, 2013 Now that I'm approved I'd like to take advantage of CA's medical pot laws. Does being a "patient" have any ill effects if/when CIR passes?
Dreamer3oh3 40 Posted August 20, 2013 I was wondering the same thing and how it affects us.
Tori 38 Posted August 21, 2013 It'll definitely come up in the background check. Does anyone on here have a pot card and got approved for DACA?
Dreamer3oh3 40 Posted August 22, 2013 I thought you could only get a medical card if you were a legal resident or better yet an us citizen. So therefor you would be required to present an actual social and proof of ID
JoseG 383 Posted August 22, 2013 As far as I'm concerned, you don't need the card, just the physicians recommendation or prescription. The card is voluntary and it's just to show it to police officers in case they stop you and you have marijuana on you because some don't accept just the physician's recommendation as proof. 1 Dreamer3oh3 reacted to this
Dreamer3oh3 40 Posted August 22, 2013 there's alot of politics. Here in Colorado you ARE required to have a medical card, then they passed a law where you wouldn't get a ticket for it, then it became legal, and now if you wanna purchase it at a store it has to be a marijuana store and not a medical store and the tax on it is like 30%? or something stupid
Tori 38 Posted August 24, 2013 Wow, what a crazy roller coaster out in Colorado. In CA you don't necessarily have to carry a pot card, some clubs offer cards for ease of IDing and transactions, and as JoseG mentions all you need is a doc's proof. Pot tax in San Jose is in the 20 - 30% range, but many clubs find ways to lessen the cost and on the receipt it's listed as a "donation." 1 Dreamer3oh3 reacted to this
