Francisco94 0 Posted August 25, 2013 Hello, I'm starting this new topic hoping to gain more insight on my situation. I was approved for deferred action a few months back and I recently got hired. I am not fortunate enough to have a job near my house like some, in fact, my job is 12 miles away and about a 25 minute ride on free way. I've been considering buying a car but just the thought of being pulled over has me terrified since I live in arizona. I found public transportation to be unreliable and being late to work is not an option. I get so depressed over this knowing that If I lived in another state, I would be safely driving without any worries. If anyone knows of any loophole I can take to recieve a license, please post it for everyone else that is in the same situation. I'm considering going to another state to take a driving test there but something tells me that it's not that easy. Thanks for reading.
pswa83 302 Posted August 25, 2013 if you have family in CA, i would go there to get a DL. they dont ask for address verification or anything like that. all you need is your EAD and to know your SSN. dont need to show the actual SSN card. you would just use your family's CA address and you'd be good to go. that way when you do go back to AZ and if you get stopped while driving, you just say that you're visiting. from what i understand, there are no loopholes in the AZ law. the DMV will look at your EAD to verify the category and if they see that it say "33" like it does on our EADs then they will deny you a DL/ID, no matter what DMV office you go to. JoseG 383 Posted November 1, 2013 I don't believe there is one. The only way you would be able to get an ID or DL in Arizona is by using your EAD and on your EAD it was the Category 'C33' which is obviously not allowed to apply for an ID or DL.
Admin 174 Posted November 1, 2013 I feel everyone's frustration on this ridiculous situation. I think that if the president makes an "executive order", all states should comply no matter what. I can't believe that each state can overrule this. I honestly think its not fair.
