HisWife 6 Posted September 4, 2013 What is a lockbox and where do I have to send my husband's paperwork to? We're residing in the Central Valley (California), does it have anything to do with that. is the lockbox the place (address) in where we send all the forms, documents to? also since it is a lot of docs, do I send it in a regular envelope the plain white ones or do I use a manila folder and get it certified through USPS. Sorry for all the questions just want to get this process going as smoothly as possible. THANKS!
WGATAP 17 Posted September 4, 2013 Yes, you have to end it to a lockbox and then USCIS ppl will forward it to a service center if they accept the application. Below is the link to lockbox depending on where you live, that's where you will send the application. I would suggest sending it using the priority mail envelope or Express mail envelopes at the post office. Doing so will provide you with a tracking number, so that you will know your application got to the lockbox safe. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=e11fb8e59b529310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=fe529c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

Theresa 63 Posted September 5, 2013 The weight affects the price to send them but USPS has envelopes that would work and whatever you do, don't send it in more than one envelope.
HisWife 6 Posted September 5, 2013 yes i saw the big express mail ones, im gonna be telling hubby to use those. and even if we have to pay extra it wont matter because at the end (hopefully) the rewards will be even bigger

Theresa 63 Posted September 6, 2013 It's a good idea that the forms are together, The reference of my packet that I posted was the way a workshop I volunteered for did them. Make sure you type in or if you write in, use capital letter, sign in blue ink. Dont use high lighter on the important information (the readers have a hard time reading underneath the high lighter) I highlited next or underneath the information. They have these scanner like reader but I also wanted to make it easier on the human reader.
