WGATAP 17 Posted September 6, 2013 I have sovereign bank. They let me open the account even though I don't have a social yet. I have a classic student account and I don't have any fees for both savings and checking. 1 Yureelee reacted to this

JoseG 383 Posted September 10, 2013 I also have to open a bank account soon. I think I'll go with Chase since they're everywhere and have a lot of services. 1 Yureelee reacted to this
engineer2mike 36 Posted September 10, 2013 I agree Jose. Go with Chase because Wells Fargo Sucks. I had a rough start with them on overdraft fees, but I got the hang of it now. They didn't offer me unsecured credit even though I had a secure credit card for a few years . 1 Yureelee reacted to this
stolenlacs 37 Posted September 10, 2013 Yeah I third the motion of Wells Fargo..they suck!!! I'm going to give Bank of America a try, and I'll look into Chase as well. Thanks for the tip Jose. 1 Yureelee reacted to this
Dreamer3oh3 40 Posted September 10, 2013 Oh man !! ... I jst opened my bank account with them..lol If you have a way 2 save savings account and a checking account with a minimum bal of like 150 or something like that then you don't pay fees! 1 Yureelee reacted to this
Yureelee 27 Posted September 11, 2013 Thanks you guys for the recommendations. I guess I should of read them first before opening the account with Wells Fargo..lol. I am going to be getting direct deposits of my paychecks to the account. So hopefully they don't start coming out charging with high fees. If I don't like it , then I guess I will just change banks. I hope its not a big deal changing banks if one day I decide to do it. Or is it ?? 1 Admin reacted to this

Admin 174 Posted September 11, 2013 then I guess I will just change banks. I hope its not a big deal changing banks if one day I decide to do it. Or is it ?? Its defiantly not a big deal to change banks. You just simply tell them you want to close ur bank account and you go ahead and open it elsewhere. Or you can simply not use it and open another one. Wells Fargo is pretty good in my opinion and most of the major banks have similar policies because they have to compete against each other, so it shouldn't be too bad. 1 Yureelee reacted to this
dreamer101 6 Posted September 13, 2013 Right now chase is about the same as wellsfargo, chase charges you 12$ if you have a balance of less than 1500$. Wellsfargo waves the 12$ if you use your card 10 times in a month. I had Chase, and when my balance went below 1,500, they started charging me even if you add more balance they charged after your balance has gone below 1,500. Wellsfargo is not on the favorite list either but at least they wave the monthly fee if you use it 10 times. 1 Yureelee reacted to this
JoseG 383 Posted September 13, 2013 The fee for the Chase Total Checking is only $10 and it's waved if you have direct deposit and get a combined total deposit of only $500 a month. 1 Yureelee reacted to this
