GaiusJuliusCaesarII 2 Posted September 10, 2013 I'm 21 years old, and I was brought to the United States at the age of 5. I was surfing the internet and I found this website, so I decided to share something about myself. I have lived in the Chicagoland area all my life. When I was younger, I played little league baseball, baseball being my favorite sport and I'm a big Chicago Cubs fan. I went to public school from the 1st grade to the 12th grade. I have always had that drive to achieve greater learning. I write poetry. I read a lot; ancient cultures are my favorite. History and Biology are my favorite school subjects. When a realized I was illegal, I thought, well I've heard of the legislation called the DREAM ACT and without a doubt its going to pass before i'm out of high school. We all know it never passed. As I write this, I am remembering watching the vote count (in the Senate) on c-span. it was heart-breaking, and I never shared my situation with anyone. To make it short, I became: very angry, sad, depressed, and anxious. I felt terrible shame, and not expressing my feelings was drowning me. I have recently applied for DACA. I sent my application on August 27, 2013, and I have my biometrics scheduled for September 23, 2013. 2 WGATAP and HisWife reacted to this

Minorflaw 0 Posted September 12, 2013 Welcome to the forums! Hang in there, time will pass and hopefully an approval will come soon ^^ I'm 23 myself, been here since I was 8. Being illegal really hit me when I decided to take Drivers Ed class with my friends and on the very first day we got our forms to fill out.. almost the 3rd thing down the list that was asked for... Social Security number. I dropped that class that afternoon. It really hit me hard and its hard to believe Im 23 now. Time flies, I was recently approved for DACA and just today received my Social security #. I'm pretty happy to begin my life now, even if it took a while to. Thing i would recommend, If you can .. go walk in to your biometrics appointment if its allowed, you could really speed up the process by doing so. Also maybe have some extra evidence lying around in the offchance you do get an RFE. I hope you are approved soon ^^

I don't think I can since they gave me a specific time. And when do they usually request further information, after the biomettrics are taken?? if you know
Minorflaw 0 Posted September 12, 2013 Thanks man, how do I know if I can walk-in? I don't think I can since they gave me a specific time. And when do they usually request further information, after the biomettrics are taken?? if you know Everyone is giving a specific date and time to show up, however depending where you live and what your closest location is, some areas let you go and take them early. If its not too far away its worth a shot. If you can't walk-in they'd just tell you to come back on your appointment date. No damage done. It should tell you on the Biometrics appointment letter where your location to go is. Also, as long as you sent a good amount of evidence you shouldn't get a request for more. I was just suggesting in the chance they did, you'd be ready to go and mail it back. Good luck! also try not to drive yourself crazy checking the receipt #s on the USCIS website, I know i did and it really didnt help me checking daily.
