Admin 174 Posted July 19, 2012 With regards to deferred action, Napolitano said that applications will be available on August 15 and added in her testimony that: Individuals must also complete a biographic and biometric background check and not currently in removal proceedings or subject to a final order, must be 15 years or older to be considered for deferred action. Only those individuals who can prove through verifiable documentation that they meet these criteria will be considered for deferred action under this initiative. Individuals will not be eligible if they are not currently in the United States or cannot prove that they have continuously resided within the United States for at least five years. Napolitano reiterated that the program will not cost American taxpayers because there will be a fee for the process (in addition to the $380 for work authorization and $80 for biometrics). It is important to note that DHS has not yet decided the cost of the application. Source: http://liftedlamp.wo...e-on-august-15/ The DHS will put out additional guidelines on August 1. itzel 336 Posted July 20, 2012 King: Biometrics (or biometric authentication)[note 1] refers to the identification of humans by their characteristics or traits. Biometric identifiers are the distinctive, measurable characteristics used to label and describe individuals.[2] The two categories of biometric identifiers include physiological and behavioral characteristics.[3] A physiological biometric would identify by one's voice, DNA, hand print or behavior. Behavioral biometrics are related to the behavior of a person, including but not limited to: typing rhythm, gait, and voice. In other words, what I understand is its a physical. Aled 118 Posted July 21, 2012 John89- Guidelines have not yet been released in regards to background checks. Now, for you to identify yourself you can use your country's passport. It is highly recommended that you also get your birth certificate.
