roadrunner11 167 Posted November 8, 2013 I work for a hospital and we received a training on this. Everyone will be required to have health insurance. If you are a citizen or permanent resident you will be able to buy it from the insurance exchange website from the government or you can apply to Medicaid/Medicare. Everyone including those who have temporary work permits and those who do not have a legal status here will be required to have insurance. If someone fails to have insurance for 2014 this person when filing for taxes will be fined $90 I believe. Now if this same person again does not buy health insurance in 2015 the fine goes up to about $300. I can't remember the exact amount but it will be deducted from your tax return and if your return is not enough they will make you pay. Basically we all need to get insurance to avoid the fines. I hope that helps.
