Theresa 63 Posted October 26, 2014 Were your violations dismissed? Here is a case of some one with similar situation who got approved. I don't know if you want to make a comparison.
ViK 7 Posted October 26, 2014 All that I know is the case was closed. I will call tomorrow & find out if the violations were dismissed. Is there another thread that talks further about DUI cases in here Theresa? I've talked to Immigration Lawyers but they all say I don't qualify.
Theresa 63 Posted October 27, 2014 Do you have a copy of the document? The document I posted is from a close friend so I know it is possible and worth a shot. I know there were some people in the forum who got approved with DUI as well. My friend did not use a lawyer but did send that document with the packet. Check my post on how to send a complete package and follow the directions. Again, It's a personal decision but if you are not a threat to USA and get denied, you just get denied. joan20 0 Posted November 25, 2014 Hello guys. I lived in the state of Texas. In 2010, i got charged with a DUI. it is my first and only offense. when i heard first about DACA, i talked to several lawyers but all said i didn't qualify, so i never applied. i knew i deserved that since i had put myself in that situation. I have learned from my mistake. i finished probation and paid all my fines. i turned my life around and decided to finished college. i now have an associate degree and currently working on my second associates and my bachelors degree. what i would like to know if anyone in the state of Texas has been approved for DACA with DUI in their record? I have heard that most cases involving a dui have been denied. I am so scare to apply. is there any hope for people like myself? I totally understand the gravity of my actions and learned from it. I just want to move forward and continue educating myself and be part of this great country.
ViK 7 Posted November 27, 2014 Joan I'm in the same boat. I have a DUI that happen on 2007 I was like you "Afraid" Don't be. I send my package with copies of my arrest & court papers. I attached letters from my local church, friends & family member speaking on my behalf. On the USCIS I read the part about Significant Misdemeanor that you're disqualified if you have that. But it also said there's "Exceptional Circumstances" I wrote that I need to help mom & my younger brother that lives with me (US citizen) things like that. You have nothing loose. You won't get deported the only that will happen if you don't qualified is loose your money. But it's an investment for your future... I'm being hopeful that I do qualified.
