Social Security

Recommended Posts

Hi all I have a question I went in to the SSO to get my SSN  and they gave me the paper saying it would take two weeks or but it has been a month and I just went today and they told me that my SSN has not been cleared yet so they could not give me one has anyone had this issue? BTW I live in California.

Thank you   :)

What a wait. I'm in CA too, the Bay Area. Took the local SS office less than a week to mail out my card; this was in April.

It could take up to 8 weeks. But you can ask them for a print out and you can use it to get the drivers license.

Thats what I been told. I asked her for a copy but she would not give it to me because she said there was no numbe assigned to me yet.

Good luck hopefully you get yours soon. I just found out i can go to the DMV with just the receipt they gave me and get my ID and once i do get the social I just have to go back to DMV and show it to them so they can put it on file.

With my experience the DMV didn't even look at my SSN card. I just wrote in my number and showed my EAD.
