iamMari2013 8 Posted February 22, 2014 Is it true that you can get your permanent residency granted faster if you have a DACA application pending (or granted) ?? I heard about this...but I am not so sure? My husband is a US citizen ..but he has not petition for me because lawyers tell us that we have to prove a hardship to get the waiver..and we have no hardship ...any advice? Theresa 63 Posted February 23, 2014 Not at the moment. Your husband is right. but he can still petition I-130 for you first in the mean time, and after I-130 is approved, you can either prove hardship or see if the immigration reform makes it easier to change status (I-485) and gives priority on petitions already summited. Did you come in with visa? That would make easier :/
iamMari2013 8 Posted February 27, 2014 He hasn't petition because we are scared that if my waiver gets denied I can be removed from the country! : I did NOT come in with a Visa (unfortunately) So DACA is my only (temp) help.....but it's still not residency. It sucks!
