I have a question, Has anyone here applied for advance parole and got approved yet? if so, have you travel outside the USA and return? Can you please share your story. It has to be a humanitarian reason like one of your family members is dying. erika020 87 Posted March 20, 2014 I know a lot of people who have filed a request for AP and traveled to their home country and other countries. All of them were able to come back successfully. From what one of them told me, she was held by immigration officers on her way back to the US and was asked to show a paper that USCIS sent her when she got approved and she was interrogated, they asked her questions about her status, they asked her how she got DACA and the reason she was traveling to where she traveled and after an hour they let her go and was able to come back to the US with no problem at all. She went to Brazil (her country of birth ) and to Jerusalem .It took her about two months to get approved,but she said that you need to show proof that you're either going for a humanitarian, educational or employment purposes Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I have heard on forums of a lot of people who have DACA & are EWI that have used adv. parole & come back with no problems. I personally have not met anyone that's used it and come back tho. I also have not read anywhere online of DACA beneficiaries getting denied re-entry to the US. I've also read online of a couple of people who are trying to adjust status after using AP as well, because they are relatives of US citizens, mainly spouses. AP states it is not a guaranteed re-entry document, but after hours of reading & research I decided AP is worth the risk. I have been talking to Katy Chavez, a lawyer who has helped dreamers apply for AP & I am currently gathering evidence to send out my application for adv. parole hopefully by the 10th of May.
