I haven't actually gone to my appointment yet since its still due in 12 days. From what I know, when you get a biometric besides getting your photograph taken and fingerprints, you must also fill out a form which is basically about you. Things like your height, weight etc.

This is what I know that happens in biometric checks. It is anticipated to be the same for us applying for DACA.

I got mine done today at the ASC in Elizabeth, NJ. You walk in and show the guard your biometrics appt letter and your identification. Then, he/she gives you a form to fill out & also makes sure you turn off your phone. You fill out the top and it's basic information, your alien registration # and your receipt numbers. You show the guard that you completed the form, then you walk to the receptionist line. This line is a bit longer but at that time, it took about 10-15 minutes to get to the desk. The receptionist at the desk writes in a few details on the form you filled out, looks at your ID, asks to look at your hands, then staples on a ticket with a number on it. NOTE: They were adamant about minors being accompanied by an adult, so plan that accordingly. Next, you wait in the biometrics wing at a seat until your number is called. When your number is called, you proceed to an area in the room. The technician asks for you to approve the info they have on record. Then, he asks you to sign an electronic notepad. Next, he sprays alcohol on your hands and takes 10 prints, and an extra one of your right index finger. After each finger, on the corner it'll say either pass or rejected. Once all of that is set, you sit down to have your picture taken for the EAD. After all of that, you're done and the technician might ask you to fill out a customer service questionnaire and drop it off. Then, you can go home and endure the hardest part: the wait

The waiting is the hardest part, but we have been waiting years and a little more won't hurt

My Appointment is Oct 11, 2012 10 Am @ Jamaica, Queens New York. I have to work, can I be there like 8 am and wish they can let me do it early, so I can go back to work after it.

I'm sure you can, people have gone in days before their appointment and have been able to take their biometrics without a problem.

LOL I meant they staple the ticket on your forms. The technician had a screen up with your name, address, and maybe more things. I can't remember that part well.

My appointment was at 12. I actually waited in the wrong line first, but not factoring my mistake in, you should be out in 30-40 minutes, but I'm sure that'll vary on which support center you go to and what time. I got out at 1 though

Yes, you need to take the Biometrics appointment letter with you to the appointment, along with photo identification. The A# and Receipt number are on the appointment letter.

Thanks for replying. But on my appointment letter I don't see a receipt number just the A#? I did receive a notice about my payment being received and I do see a receipt number on that notice. Is that the # I use?

On the Biometrics appointment letter the receipt number is labeled as "Application Number"

They just down right not take it. But the lady there gave me a sheet of where I can get my passport and told me that the consulate is in town every tuesday so if i get it tomorrow I can just walk in and get my biometrics done. I called tho and all appointments are full ugh, so now I have to wait till next tuesday or call back again tomorrow incase people cancel.

I had been very stressed out the past week to see that everyone had received their biometric appointments, and I decided to call USCIS.

I was given the good/bad news that they did send out my biometrics appointments and that it was in 2 hours...

How was I to go to my appointment if I didnt have an ASC notice to take in?

They asked me for a fax number which I dont have because they cant email it to you to just print out.

Thank God my mother in law has a fax number so they faxed it to her and I got in to my appointment.

I went to the ASC office located in El Paso TX.

When I arrived, a security guard took my ASC biometrics appointment notice and my ID, I used my "matricula consular" because its a government issued ID and its not expired yet, I also took in birth certificate just in case as proof.

I got there and it was EMPTY. There were only 2 other persons there and they werent even my age, they were elderly.

I was asked to fill out a form with sex,weight, hair color, eye color, etc..

After that I was called to the back where my fingerprints and photo were taken along with my signature.

In all this process took LESS than 15 minutes.....SUPER HAPPY!!!!
