Zoey84 5 Posted March 4, 2015 So i don't know if this is asked before but, I decided to enroll in college because its been a dream to go. But i never knew that since i live in texas that i could apply for tafsa. So after HS i didn't even think it was possible. Anywho fast foward 12 years later..(i know a long time). Since i received DACA i found out about getting money for college. i don't know if i'm mistaken but i've read that tasfa doesn't pay for everything other than like maybe half per semester. Is this true? I've never actually gone through this i'm fairly new and would like anyone's feed back who already has gone through this..by the way i'm trying to go for nursing. Any input would be helpful thanks..
Theresa 63 Posted March 10, 2015 The schools would be a good source to ask them directly just in case
sotero_gonzalez 54 Posted March 11, 2015 what is tafsa? are you sure you are not confusing it with fafsa? I know for a fact we cant apply for fafsa only the fee waiver where they cover your tuition only. but yeah, check with the school.
chocotaco 0 Posted March 12, 2015 TASFA is like FASFA but only for people in Texas. We could always apply for TASFA though. I'd always investigate before anything and I remember someone telling me that it doesn't pay for everything.
sotero_gonzalez 54 Posted March 17, 2015 ah, I see. how much is the tuition in Texas? I am waiting for my year to be up so I wont have to pay the out of state tuition fee since I just came from SoCal. Hopefully I can finish here.
chocotaco 0 Posted March 23, 2015 It varies. If you're a resident of the area or not. Then if it's a community college, private or public college. You can finish if you're determined enough. The thing is to never quit.
