kimaful 1 Posted October 25, 2015 Okay so I started my whole process in July out here in California and it seems to be going by extremely slow. I already did my biometrics in august but that is the last I've seen or heard anything from USCIS or anything. When I check online on my cases it just says my cases have been received and they are being reviewed, should I be worried that I am not getting anything? Or am I just being impatient? BTW this is my first time processing this
Theresa 63 Posted October 25, 2015 I know it seems like a long time but the actual wait starts 90 days after biometrics unless you get aproval before that. The longest I have heard people have waited is 18 months and the shortest is 2 months. I hope you get it soon, this is just the worse case scenario. Try to stay positive during this hard wait. nrodri 0 Posted October 26, 2015 Hi, you guys. I applied for the renewal of my Employment Authorization Card last December (2014), attended my biometrics appointment, and waited... I wasn't too worried at first, because as we all know sometimes the wait time can be lengthy. However, after six or seven months, I had a bad feeling and finally called USCIS (something I should have done earlier) only to find out my work permit had been mailed to my home in May!Of course I never received it... and they told me I had no other option, that they knew it wasn't my fault but it wasn't their responsibility either and the only way to replace it was by filing a new application and paying the fee again. It sucked big time. I had to pay everything all over again and begin the process over. I applied for my lost card sometime in August. The last notice I have is one of September 10, 2015. I have been waiting over a month for my biometrics appointment. The last time I called, I was told USCIS may not need my biometrics to be taken again since my case has already been processed once. So now I'm not even sure what I'm waiting for. All I know is my permit was lost in the mail once because I didn't check up on it. I am seriously stressing over this. I can't afford to lose my card again. It is too expensive. It's driving me crazy
Theresa 63 Posted October 28, 2015 My friend went through the same exact thing. She followed the track number and watched for it. It never arrived even though the system showed the tracking times and places and the arrival time and place. There is nothing they can do about it if it happens. They just suggest to reapply. She had to pay the 465 plus 2 pictures and the forms filled again. She did biometrics again too.

kimaful 1 Posted November 3, 2015 How I am thinking about this is, I am willing to wait until January to get an answer and if by then nothing happens I'll call and see what's up. At the same time, I kind of want to call and ask around now because what if I just never got notified about evidence, been approved, denied, or whatever and it just screws me over. I'm really conflicted, should I call now or wait until its been exactly 6 months and then call?
Theresa 63 Posted November 4, 2015 It's hard to say how long it could take because there has been reports about the wait being rfrom 2 months to almost 2 years and no one knows why. What you can do after six months is an on line inquiry, call them, can also request a FOIA. Stay strong because it takes a lot of patience to go though this. I know it's hard to hear to stay bussy to not think about it much when I know it is in your mind all the time. But I'm am going to say it, stay positive, be patient and stay strong. We are stronger than we think it's possible
