My boyfriend entered the country when he was about six years old, since he was so young and under the Dream Act, if you dont know enough about your immigration status they grant you with a work permit. Well, he has been here for a while now and he wants to join the Reserves, (clearly he can't because he is technically not a US citizen). We both have looked into the different ways of becoming a US citizen, and as you know there are many and they are al long and confusing. One of the things that came up on the search was the option of getting married. Here is my question, would getting married be the easiest way to go about becoming a citizen for him? He has told me how they have "overstayed their visas" and that if he "stay under the radar" and pays to renew the work permit, he wont get deported. Please help! This whole thing has been stressing me out to the max and I would just like some sense of direction. Thank you!!!
