Hopeful93 0 Posted December 13, 2016 Hello all, With everything going on with regards to Trump, I'm starting to truly worry about my future. I re-applied for DACA and work permit in August, due to my current one expiring soon. I have gone through biometrics and am a nervous wreck with the ammount of time it is taking to hear anything back I am recently engaged to a US Citizen, and am expecting a child in January with her. I am wondering if any of you know if I can apply for anything other than DACA under these circumstances. I have the ability to expedite our wedding if need be. Trumps election has brought so much uncertainty to my new family and I honestly don't know what to do. My lawyer has told me they are no longer accepting DACA applications at their office and it worries me USCIS may just drag their feet until the inauguration and months after until an executive decision is made. I know a lot of people talk about coming through across the border or through inspection... I was brought through a border check point in 1995 by US Citizens, and they passed me through as their child? I was two years old. Would that qualify as coming through inspection? Any advice / response helps.. Thank you - hopeful
ViK 7 Posted December 24, 2016 The best thing to do is get married & apply for residency. Talk to a immigration lawyer not a notary. If the process goes smoothly it's a couple of months for you to receive a work permit. Now for your question about inspection. I was told by a lawyer that it does, but once again get an experience lawyer.
