JoseG 383 Posted October 12, 2012 http://www.washingto...e945_story.html WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has approved more 4,500 young illegal immigrants for a program to let them stay in the United States and get a work permit. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services said Friday about 180,000 people have applied for the administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program announced this summer. As of Wednesday, 4,591 applications had been approved. Those people will also get permission to work. To date, no applications have been rejected but Homeland Security officials said it could take at least two months after an application is received for it to be declined. If more information is need from an applicant, the process could take even longer. 1 Rh_ny reacted to this
angela 9 Posted October 14, 2012 I found this statistics on the DHS website: http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/Resources/Reports%20and%20Studies/Immigration%20Forms%20Data/All%20Form%20Types/DACA/DACAOct2012.pdf
itzel 336 Posted October 14, 2012 I think the ones that have applied and have been approved up to now are going to be some of the quickest approvals. A lot of DREAMERS are hesitant to apply either because they dont have enough funds for the fees or the consequences of their applying, either fear of family being deported or them being rejected. Now that these DREAMERS see that many have applied and are being approved theyll start applying.
amor 112 Posted October 14, 2012 I hope so. There are enough risks that we make day to day and there is enough fear that we live with for this to be something to add to the list. We have to trust in the system and take advantage of this opportunity!
