If you could change one thing...?

Recommended Posts

So I would like to know some of your opinions about the forum we all use on a daily basis. Since we all know Obama got re-elected, we can breath for another 4 years!! Congrats on that.

If you could change/add/remove/comment on just 1 thing, what would it be?

If we could change something about current immigration processes/statuses?? Well, there's nothing I want more than for mi mami to have a chance!! She has struggled soooooo much and I just wish she could breathe easy for once!! Granted, my sister and I will stop at nothing to give her a better life, but it would be great if she could finally be able to live out some of her dreams, like traveling back to el pueblo, opening a business, getting a driver's license, etc... I think a lot of us here wish our parents had a chance, because they're the ones that gave up everything to get us to where we are... God bless mi mami, and God bless all the wonderful, hardworking parents out there that have made the Dreamers who we are!!

I love your response and I am sure that's what everyone hopes for their parents. But I would like to make it clear that this topic is about changing or adding something pertaining to the forum.

I want to make it a better experience for everyone!

I couldn't put in any other way. Nivia hit it right on the head; our parents have done so much for us and I think they deserve just as much freedom as we deserve.

If I could change something, I would eliminate borders. I understand the politics behind it, but we do not choose where we want to be born. I was born in Mexico and migrated here at age 6 months, better said I was brought here. My birth certificate says Mexico, but all I know life in the US. This weekend I was watching a film Deportados, with Julio Aleman, Chelelo and others. Films like these always put a lump in my thought, because we come to the US for a better life, but are treated like criminals

i like the forum and the way it's set up. i know the forum is for questions and all that but sometimes people dont go through the topics and look for the answers to their questions, so maybe a quick shoutbox for quick questions. maybe? <_<

This forum is good the way it is, I don't think anything should be changed. One thing that needs to be taken care of is to update the approval list more often so we all are updated.

Fist, I am very glad that we have this forum. It is nice to see how each and one of us is going through this amazing journey in getting our DA/EA. On that note, I would like to make some recommendations:

1. I agree with the previous suggestion. Have a section where we could go to get further information on a variety of different topics relating to this whole process of "adjusting our status" and starting our lives "partly documented". For example, links to get applications for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and a Social Security. In addition, many us will soon get credit cards, loans, and drivers license as a result, we will need information as to how and where to obtain them. For example, inks to all the states where one can get the requirements to apply for a drivers license.

2. The forums needs to be better organized. You should place categories where people can place their comments. For example on the Dream Act Questions and Answers you have to many discussion and is very difficult to follow. A way to accomplish this would be to place all questions about SS under one category and others with their corresponding topic.

3. Also, If someone post a question and someone answers it, the user who asked the question should be notified that a respond has been posted.

Hope this helps.

I was thinking whenever we want to reply to the person who commented on our status, the person don't know if they don't check back to ourt status.

I agree with there being a separate chat box for "chat" other than DACA chat, because honestly, I dont go on the chat box because people are bouncing from 1 subject to another and some of it is persona. We shold have a box called "Mingle or Whazzzaaaupppp" so people can talk about what ever they want, One chat box for only DACA questions concerns, what to do after getting the EAD, etc...

How about like facebook, where you can tag someone in a post like for example you can be posting

"blah blah blah blah blah blah @MOE bla bla bla bla bla"

Also, more notifications!!

A chat platform where you can create different chatroom for different topics. This would separate our www.cupid.com members from those who want to help DACA members.

Renting a Ventrilo or TeamSpeak server(perhaps accept donations to pay for it) so we have some sort of live voice/chat support.
