JoseG 383 Posted November 9, 2012 I know you can use a state issued ID, not sure about the EAD. Try searching on the TSA website.

DreamingStyle 3 Posted November 9, 2012 http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/acceptable-ids I don't know where EAD would fall under but I figured since it's from the government and it has a picture & full name it should be fine...
Aled 118 Posted November 9, 2012 Dude you can use your country's passport if you have it. I've traveled from Boston to Miami multiple times with it, never without a problem. I suppose you can also use your EAD though... 3 DreamingStyle, Rh_ny and Rawf reacted to this
C_Air23 32 Posted November 9, 2012 You can, but just to make sure, you can ALWAYS bring your foreign passport! You can use that as well!
taramo35 27 Posted November 9, 2012 What about if ur going to Hawaii ? Should be the same right?
Rawf 336 Posted November 9, 2012 Yep, you can use your foreign passport to travel within the US. They don't check your immigration status when traveling within the US. I Good luck and best of luck on your trips and congrats on getting approved! 1 DreamingStyle reacted to this

Rawf 336 Posted November 10, 2012 Theres checkpoints if you drive to a different state. Not here, I have drove to NY, TN, AZ, TX, NJ and some others. Never have been to a checkpoint. The only checkpoint was when we almost crossed from the niagara falls, NY to canada lol.. 1 Sinae reacted to this

That sounds more difficult than getting through an actual checkpoint on an airport...
JoseG 383 Posted November 10, 2012 It's quite easy. All they ask is if you are a U.S. Citizen. Of course we must say no. Then they will ask you for proof of Residence or Legal Presence. Our Legal Presence document can be a copy of our DACA approval letter and EAD. Then you're on your way.
itzel 336 Posted November 10, 2012 I agree with u guys.. I find these checkpoints rather annoying... 1 Brookness reacted to this

Aled 118 Posted November 15, 2012 I was wondering if a state ID is an acceptable form of ID to fly within the U.S...? Hmm
roadrunner11 167 Posted November 15, 2012 Yes, it is acceptable to present your state ID to fly within the US. Before I got DACA, I was able to obtain a valid ID and I used it all the time to fly. 1 Aled reacted to this
mayra 19 Posted November 15, 2012 so my country's passport is good enough to travel in the u.s?
JoseG 383 Posted November 15, 2012 I've heard several dreamers say they have traveled with their Passports. I've flown before, but that was when I was a minor and didn't have to show ID.
Aled 118 Posted November 15, 2012 I have done a bit of traveling the past couple of years from Massachusetts to Florida using my country's passport. I've never had a problem with it. If you check with TSA website you'll see tha using a foreign passport is an acceptable form of ID to use at the airport. Usually when you fly within the states when you're going through the airport's checkpoint they just check to see if your passport is valid your name and photo. Aled 118 Posted November 15, 2012 You know, for every aiport in the country they are all different in the sense of being strict. Like I said, I've never had any problems traveling with a foreign passport. But that doesn't mean that there's still no risks involved. For example, an officer at some airport can decide to go ahead and find the visa stamp on your passport (thing which I heard is unlikely when traveling in the U.S). Obviously if this officer wants to screw you over, he can do that. Don't mean to scare you but its still a reality that must be pointed out...
Sinae 21 Posted November 15, 2012 I agree with u guys.. I find these checkpoints rather annoying... That's crazy! I didn't know there were check points in between states? I've never seen one? But I love the non-citizen answer lol I guess some states further down have check points..
