indieBlocs 2 Posted November 17, 2012 I got my ssn by mail today and im just wondering if I can make a copy (scan it) just to keep a copy of it. would in anyway damage the ssn card if I scan it?
Rawf 336 Posted November 17, 2012 Yes you can, but it is not recommended to carry your ssn card or copy with you. Your best bet is to take it with you to apply for whatever you are applying for and then leave it at home. Just memorize the number
Aled 118 Posted November 17, 2012 It shouldn't damage your card if you scan it. If you look at it, the card is not made of anything special and has no barcodes or anything. Its just paper...
roadrunner11 167 Posted November 17, 2012 Hi IndieBlocs, No you can make a copy of your SSN and it won't damage it. The security features are not harmed and your future employers will copy it all the time when you get a job. Best way to go about the card is to keep it in a safe place and just memorize the number CONGRATS by the way.
