I'm ignorant to the requirements.

Recommended Posts

Hi my name is Diego. I'm 28 years old and I've been in the states since I was 5. I'm originally from Los Angeles (where I grew up) CA but because of my status I've landed in Kansas City MO. Here are my ignorant questions:

Do I need a passport or would I be good with the consulate ID from Mexico. I also have my birth certificate

I have documents stowing I've been here all the time with no criminal record.

Have a high school diploma with college certificates of participation in school sports

I have a state championship ring from college for wrestling.

I'm to ignorant to my requirements. If you could throw your 2 cents to guide me in the right direction I would appreciated.

Thanks in advance and keep positive familia!

Hola Diego!! :)

your do not need to have your passport and your consulate ID should be ok.

your birth certificate will need to be translated. google it and you should be able to find a site that will do it for cheap.

if you have been here since you were 5, then you should use all your school records. kindergarden to high school. immunization shot records, if you still have them. this will show that you were in the US before your were 16. and after as well. bank statements, any piece of mail with your name and address on it cant also be used. any medical records, lease agreements your parents signed that list you on it. college records can help too.

when i sent in my papers, i sent in all my school records, college regristration papers, lease agreements, bank statements, doctors visits, etc. the more paperwork you have the better.

hopefully all that helps. ask any other questions you have. good luck!! :)

Yes, Diego, the more info you provide the better... Also, try organizing your application really well with like manila folders for everything you have to provide evidence for. For example, have one folder with just I.D.'s... one folder for proof of enrollment and graduation from college... one folder for June 15, 2012.... one folder for the past 5 years (document at least every few months) And yes the consular I.D. is perfectly fine, that's what I sent in along with my college i.d. remember to put copies of everything, not originals!! Best of luck!!

pswa83 hit it right on the nail Diego. Pswa83 and I submitted the same day and similar paperwork to the one you have and we did just good. I also only presented a consulate ID and school records, medical records etc...good luck and no question is an ignorant question....

Well thank you ladies for all the info. I have everything I need. Just need to make the translation of my birth certificate and pay up. :0) it's finally coming to an end. After 10 years of working with a different name, getting paid bullshit money, and being treated as an "illegal" in every sense of living in the states. NO MAS! Time to fulfill my dreams to the fullest and no looking back. I'm just getting the chills writing this. Everything is possible.
