Original Title: My permit was denied in KY because parent didnt have State ID. How can I bypass this?

i was so excited to go and apply for my permit but when i got the the lady said my dad had to have a State/Drive Id or ill have to wait till im 18..

ask them if another type of ID is acceptable, maybe your dad's passport ?

could be just that state's law. have you read the handbook? and made sure that you have everything that you need in order to get a permit?

Read the requirements at the DMV website.

If you're a minor, then your parents must be responsible for your actions and you need their consent.. It sounds about right.

ok, so i did a little googling and this is what i found.

if you are applying for a regular ID/License in KY there is one app. on that app is asked for your parents DL number if you are under the age of 18.

there is a second app for Non-US Citizen applicants. this is for people who are not US citizens but may work in your case because you do have a SSN and an EAD.

i understand that but on the Non-US Citizen application it does not ask for a parents license number like it does on the regular application.

Did your dad drive you to the DMV? You need someone with a valid drivers license to go with you to the DMV!
