AndresG 0 Posted August 7, 2012 Hi, I'm confused on what kind of paperwork I will need, I meet all the requirements(being here before 15 etc etc), but what paperwork is required? I have my high school transcripts. should I get like electricity bills, my current college transcript? what else do I need?
itzel 336 Posted August 7, 2012 Andres: You should get in the forums and read all the topics, they answer most of your questions but heres the info: I started with the immunization card I was issued when I was enrolled in school. I have a vaccination card from my home country (Mexico) and when my mother showed that, all that information was transfeered to a Texas immunization card. I have the final report cards from kindergarten to middle school. I have all my student ids issued in middle school and high school. I have the final school transcript from my high school. I have my high school diploma. I have paperwork showing I took online community college classes. I have certificates issued for being a volunteer at different childrens schools. When I was able to afford my own apartment, I have the leases and bills under my name. I tend to be OCD and have them organized by date and utility. Thats all I got for now... itzel 336 Posted August 7, 2012 Andres G: I dont think itll affect you presenting the old expired visa, but it'd help more to get a government issued consulate card. I have one and I'll be using it to identify myself. Good luck
John89 11 Posted August 7, 2012 Itzel: I have my visa & passaport expired, i have two expired passaports lol Do you think if i show that would be enough??? and could any notario translate the documents as long as they state that they are competent to do so??? itzel 336 Posted August 7, 2012 John89: Your visa and passport expired should be enough, at least thats my opinion. However, we know they can be difficult sometimes, I'd go get a consulate card at your local consulate if possible. A notario should be able to translate the documents if they feel competent, just remember the officers who'll be checking our paperwork will most likely be looking for any little mistake. (my personal opinion, not fact) I found a great place for 34 with free expedited shipping. Im picking mine up tomorrow. I put up a topic about it..look it up, if you cant find it, I'll be glad to provide it. Any other questions, let me know, Im here to help.

Aled 118 Posted August 7, 2012 Hi Itzel, Do you plan to submit your IDS as they or are you making copies of them?
itzel 336 Posted August 7, 2012 Aled: Depends what they ask for, if copies or originals. If they ask for copies, I'll make color copies, but I read on the USCIS website regarding submitting paperwork, its not returned to you until later...but I really am hesitant about giving my ids...I dont want them misplaced or lost. Heres what it says exactly: At the discretion of the officer, original documents may still be required in individual cases. Please be advised that USCIS no longer returns original documents submitted with the exception of Certificates of Naturalization, Forms I-551, Permanent Resident Card, Forms I-94, Arrival/Departure Document, valid passports, or those specifically requested by the officer. Such documents will be returned when they are no longer needed.
