I wish I knew (at the time) about walk-in's.

I have been waiting for so long and it is really depressing to know that your friends have been accepted and you are still waiting for a response. I highly doubt it will take much longer with people receiving their decisions so soon (and around same time as me). But... if only I had walked-in right when I received my letter, the story would not be the same as today. Also, I have a question... Does anyone know if with DACA you are eligible to travel abroad? I was wondering if it was a possibility. Cheers.

i dont know if a walk-in speeds up the process. there are some who have been approved who have done walk-in and there are some who have done walk-ins and are still waiting.

in regards to traveling aboard, that is what Advanced Parole is for, however, seeing how DACA is a new process and any leave from the US could result in being barred from re-entry to the US, it is best to consult a lawyer about it or wait until there is more information about it available.

I wouldn't be so sure about you being approved already if you had walked-in seeing as how there are people who went in for their Biometrics on September 13 still waiting, but, who knows, it might have helped.

I went in on my appointment date- I thought it would be chaos in there seeing as how the Brazilian Consulate is just insane. O well. Hoping it comes before my birthday (Dec. 24) so I can have something else to celebrate (DI) ;D. Also about travelling abroad- Yea I was reading and became very skeptical about the whole thing since the agent, or what the person in the airport gate is called, can stop you from embarking. There are few opportunities in my university to visit France, Russia, Italy, and so on, as an educational experience (I am a language fanatic). The cost is incredibly low (Russia is $500.00 atm, although you do need to bring money for food and souvenirs). Sad life of the illegal immigrant teenager.

Fabio glad to see you joined us. Things can change for us next year if the DREAM act or an immigration reform happens. Just keep having faith and working hard on everything you do. In my opinion, life is sad if you take that attitude. We might not get the same opportunities as citizens but we definitely develop a much different work ethic. There are tons of places you can visit here in the mean time. Dwelling on the issue won't help; it will just distract us from enjoying what we do have and can have.

what service center???? :)

Same one as yours.. Chicago one or Vermont I just know both locations were mentioned. You are on the late train alongside my sister, it'll take a while now. I wish you luck being the lucky few being selected first than the ones who sent it in faster, though!

I didn't know you could just walk in to do biometrics whenever you want. I thought we had to wait for the appointed date they gave us? hmm

You can try, the worst they can do is make you come back on the date they gave you.

If it is for studies, you might have a chance to travel outside the US with advance parole.

You can do a walk-in before the appointment date when you get the appointment letter. You can't juended a walk-in right after you send in your applications.

I cant believe that you could just walk in before your appointment, :-( that sucks because I had my bio app on Nov 10, then around that time hurricane sandy hit NY so they rescheduled my app to Dec 11 so basically it took me me two months after my bio appointment notice to get em done, this is definitely upsetting.

My sister did her walk-in today. She said there was no one but her at The Bellflower Support Center. She was there at 10am and was out in 30 minutes. Her appointment was originally scheduled for the 17th of this month.

I too wish I knew.
